Un baiat retras descopera un ou misterios din care iese o creatura marina din legendele scotiene.

Eu si monstrul meu (The Water Horse: The Legend of the Deep) este povestea unui baietel singuratic din Scotia, pe nume Angus MacMorrow, care isi asteapta tatal sa revina de pe front. Povestea incepe cu scena in care Angus aduce acasa un obiect magic si misterios pe care l-a gasit pe plaja. Curand, el isi da seama ca obiectul miraculos este un ou. Din ou va iesi o creatura ciudata, pe care baiatul o va creste si cu care se va imprieteni: este vorba de “calutul de apa”, descins din vechile legende scotiene.
Pe masura ce Angus incearca sa-si ascunda prietenul, pe care il numeste Crusoe, iar intre ei se naste o relatie apropiata, baietelul incepe o calatorie initiatica, odata cu protejarea secretului, care da nastere unei legende.
Trivia:
Prints were shipped to some theaters under the fake title “Discovery”.
The title, ‘The Water Horse’, is a reference to the kelpie, a malevolent beast of Celtic lore that would disguise itself as a horse to lure unsuspecting victims to it. Once the unfortunate soul had mounted the kelpie, it would drag him or her down to their watery death.
